The Best Classroom in the World

March 28, 2019

About a month ago I was invited to be a guest lecturer on the Glaciology Course at my favourite university: The University Centre in Svalbard

My mission involved teaching the use of Ground Penetrating Radar, a technique widely use in Glaciology to measure glacier thickness, assess the thermal structure of the ice, identify the presence of water at the ice-bed interface...

So basically = fieldwork! The best part of my job.

The weather was pretty pretty cold and the fieldwork was challenging. But I was lucky to be surrounded by an amazing team including Prof. Andy Hodson, Dr. Aga Nowak and Prof. Mette Kusk Gillespie.  Thanks for the great time!

Here are some pictures telling the tale of the best classroom in the world!
